1.Moisturize and Keep your Skin Hydrated. Keep your skin hydrated by drinking 8 to 10 glasses a day and make sure to apply moisturizer. Do not keep your skin dry with too much exposure from the sun so always bring a bottle of water and a pack of moisturizer with you.

2.Use sunscreen. This is really a must-have during summer and if you expose yourself under the sun while on the beach. Use your most preferred sunblock and make sure that it states that it could protect you from UV rays. Choose those who have SPF, UVA and UVB protection so that you can be complacent that you will be protected and that you won’t have sunburn.

3. Wear sunglasses. It’s important that you wear sunglasses in order to protect your eyelids and most especially your eyes. The sun can damage them and could block your vision as it can give you cataracts and pterygium. Aside from the fact that it would make you look cool and sassy, you get to protect your skin and eyes too.

4. Wear hats or use umbrellas. Your scalp can’t handle all the heat and surely your sunscreen will melt away from your skin or will be washed out with saltwater. Given that in mind, you have to wear your summer hats and bring an umbrella with you especially at times when you know you can’t handle the heat anymore. Prevention is always better than cure so make it a point to bring the essentials.

5. Wear less make-up and use lip balm. Go as natural and bare-faced as possible if you face the scorching heat of the sun. You wouldn’t want people to see your make-up melting off your face, right? For a useful tip, just use a powder or a foundation that also has UV protection and a lip balm for your lips.

Cold shower. After you enjoyed your stay under the sun, don’t forget to get a cold shower. Hot showers after exposing yourself under the sun can make your skin very dry and dehydrated so cold showers are more recommended. After all, it’s much more comfortable to relax after you have given yourself a good cold shower.
